We have one overnight group hike trip date scheduled every month April through November.
Just pick your favorite time to hike.
You can read through the description of each monthly hike to see which hike is the best for you. I chose these dates based on when I think will be the best time to hike this trail that time of year, but if these dates do not fit your schedule, please fill out the trip request form at the bottom of the page and we will follow up to see what we can make happen.

April showers bring May flowers. If you are searching for meadows of wildflowers this is the month for you. May brings cool nights and (usually) sunshine-y days. Join us for the perfect overnight backpacking trip.

Mountain laurels and rhododendrons in bloom. June is usually a great time to spot the iconic blooms of the rhododendrons along the blue ridge parkway. The pink blooms are only seen in elevation over 3000 feet so you’ll be high enough to see their beautiful colors against the Blue Ridge Mountains. And hopefully catch a great sunset too.

Cooler temps at the higher elevation. Escape the heat of other hikes in the valley. July is one of the hotter months, but the elevation of 5,000’+ keeps the highs usually in the mid 70's - perfect hiking weather and warm enough to take a dip in the creek.

Bring along a bathing suit. August is usually the hottest month with highs around 80 degrees, but it cools off at night so it’s a great time to enjoy some time in the beautiful mountain streams. We camp realllllly close to one of the prettiest high elevation streams in the area, so you will want to take a little dip.

Usual highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s, September can offer some of the best backpacking weather. You’ll hike to one of the most beautiful summits along the Blue Ridge Parkway. It’s the perfect place for your first overnight backpacking trip.

Last chance for a Blue Ridge Parkway hike before it closes for the season. Once the road freezes parts of the parkway are closed. Usually a less crowded time to explore and the weather is usually more like fall than winter at this time, so it’s super nice on the trails. If the road freezes early, I have other lower elevation overnight trips we can take as a back up.
