Why we love it:

The waterfall at the end of this hike is AMAZING - It’s a lesser known waterfall hike, so it’s usually less crowded than other hiking options. The trail sollows alongside the creek so you can hear the water the whole hike. In the spring the trail is linned with wwildflowers and on hotter days bring a swimsuit so we can take a dip in the swimming hole at the natural waterslide.

Our Plan:

1. We will meet at the entrance to Pisgah National Forest - about 40 minutes from Downtown Asheville - and you will follow your guide in your vehicle to the trail head - about 10 minutes from the meeting area. We meet here because there is zero cell service in Pisgah and we don’t want anyone getting lost locating the trailhead.

2. From there we’ll head over to a “secret spot” to sit by a waterfall and we'll make coffee together with the sound of the falls. It’s a gorgeous spot on a side trail that many people (even locals) haven’t taken, so it’s fun to share it.

3. After that, we'll hike to one of the prettiest waterfalls along a streamside trail, and then head down to the bonus waterfall. It's a natural waterslide so if the weather is warm feel free to bring a swim suit - its a super nice swimming spot. The sliding rock is not the popular “sliding rock” - it’s a lesser known spot but it is still very popular in the summertime.

4. Then it's an easy stroll back to the cars to end our adventure.

Terrain

This trail begins with a wide, gravel road hike, but then we will follow a narrow trail over mud, rocks, and roots. It is a moderate hike, but the climb down to the falls can be slippery so you need to be comfortable hiking on uneven terrain to enjoy this adventure.
